Mehraj Malik, a young aspiring 20 year old boy from Meerut dared to dream. He dared to dream big, with nothing in his pocket and almost no support from the family he moved to Bangalore in the late 80s. Brushing away many hardships and setbacks he realized that scrap is something which he can trade in and eventually became a scrap trader. During his time as a scrap trader, he understood the concepts of RECYCLING. His passion towards recycling grew by the day and the little money it offered could not really shake him up. As a decade went by, he visualized great opportunity in recycling and repurposing waste in the electronic waste segment. Those times computing revolution was yet to come, and the e-waste market was miniscule compared to other scrap segments. However, his visions and intuitions were strong and kept on building his skills and business around e-waste. So convinced was he that inducted his both sons in his journey in the years 2007 and 2013.
He and Sons then went on to expand Electronic Waste business to different levels and cities in India. Within a decade, with growing e-waste and his sharp business acumen, he expanded his business to every major city in India. In his quest to explore the intrinsic working of the e waste industry, he realized that the epicenter of the E Waste Recycling industry in the region of Seelampur, Delhi and Muradabad, UP. He also witnessed how dangerously, unscientifically and environmentally unfriendly ways were deployed to treat e-waste in this region. This is when he planned and committed himself towards creating an environment friendly scientific dismantling and recycling facility in his very own birth place, Meerut.
Thus, Ecofly was formed in 2020 - A flight of imagination, courage and determination, with a commitment to doing thing right, environmentally.
Shahzad joined his father in 2007 at the age of 20 in Bangalore. He continued for a really long time understating the trade and nuances of the E-waste business. Shahzad expanded the dealer networks, the sourcing and overhauled the supply chain bringing in new energy and cost effectiveness in the existing operations. While he lent an energetic persona for the existing work at hand, both the father son duo could breathe a little and dream of, What’s NEXT?
Azad Joined the family of Eco Warriors, as they would have liked to call themselves those days. It was 2013 and Azad was just 19, ready to learn and propagate the family knowledge gathered over so many years in a profitable, scalable and structured organization. They used to gather CRT monitors and ICs, break them and supply components to various dealers. By 2015 they decided to move ahead the chain and Azad moved to Seelampur, the largest hub of E-Waste in India. Soon the family was known as one the largest dealers in the community. By 2018, with brother Shahzad moving in to Delhi, the idea of EcoFly was well taking shapes on the drawing papers. After 10 decades the family was returning to their roots, with tons of real experiences and a sky high dream.
